Construction

Most sites are levelled by 'Cutting and Filling' which keeps soil disposal to a minimum. This is carefully supervised to ensure proper consolidation of made up ground. The formation will normally be left with a uniform fall to the lay of the land of approximately 0.75% to assist in the dispersal of water. The total depth of the court is 150. Clean crushed limestone aggregate is normally used, but other suitable materials many be used where limestone is not readily available. A selection of surface types are available, most of which are porous and all weather. Tennideck has proven to be the most popular surface for many years.
